FAQs

What is your style?

I'm going to be straight with you, if you have a 'shot list' of traditional images or require a photographer to document the minute to minute details of your wedding day, I'm probably not for you.

I love to shoot weddings where the focus is on having as much love and laughter you can pack into one day. I've noticed that weddings today are more relaxed and spontaneous, and people want photography that reflects this. Luckily, I think the best shots are natural and genuine. This means I shoot in a more candid way, letting the events of the day unfold and to photograph things as they happen.

To throw some adjectives out there, my style has been described as unobtrusive, alternative and fun, with a touch of 'vintage-look' film about the images.

What are your rates?

To keep things simple, I offer one package: ₤750 for eight hours coverage and then ₤50 an hour thereafter. For weddings over 120 guests, I recommend bringing in a second photographer. Prices start at ₤300.

Please note that weddings outside of London may incur travel and accommodation expenses. I always aim to keep these to the bare minimum by booking well in advance and will discuss and agree costs with you.

What's included in the package?

  • A pre-wedding consultation in person (or by phone if that's not possible)
  • A two hour engagement shoot at a location of your choice - perfect for your invitations or guest book
  • Editing of all the images provided
  • A disk with your high resolution images and copyright to print as you wish

I don't see any images of group shots, do you do them?

Of course, although I like to keep these short and sweet. There could be 103,574 different combinations of all your wedding guests but I find it stresses brides and grooms out to try to fit them all in. Therefore, I strongly recommend that your group list is kept at a maximum of eight groups.

We can have a chat about how to make group shots go as smoothly as possible, making the best use of time to get the most important people photographed without taking you away from your guests for too long.

Do you edit all the photos?

All images are colour corrected and tweaks are often made to exposure and contrast. All the images will then be edited in my usual style to ensure the overall collection you receive will be cohesive.

How many pictures will I receive?

For a seven hour wedding, I will provide approximately 250-300 images. I tend to supply a mixture of black and white and colour images dependent on how I feel each image works best. If there are any specific images you would like in black and white, just ask!

I do not provide RAW files to our clients as I consider them incomplete.

How long after the wedding will our photos be ready?

In high season (May-September), please expect your images to be ready four weeks after your wedding. During other times, it will be shorter and vary depending on my workload. I will be able to advise during your consultation.

Do you offer wedding albums and prints?

At the moment, no, but I can recommend some great suppliers for a range of budgets.

Can our guests view our photos online?

If you wish, I can pop your photographs online in a private password-protected gallery. From there, guests can download and save high-resolution images to take to a lab to print.

What cameras and lenses do you use?

I use a Canon 5D Mark II and 6D camera, with a range of prime lenses.

Do we need to supply you with food on the wedding day?

Yes please. At some point during the day, I would appreciate being able to sit down for 20 minutes for a bite to eat. Because no-one likes having their picture taken mid-mouthful, it's often a good idea for me to do this at the same time as your guests.

I hate posing for photographs. Do I have to?

OR I love your portraits of bride and grooms, how long do we need to allocate for this?
It's completely up to you if you would like portraits taken. It usually takes around 20-30 minutes. I aim to capture natural, fun images that reflect who you are.

Who will be our photographer if you get struck by lightening?

Please be reassured that I have yet to miss a wedding. If I can't cover your wedding due to illness or natural disaster, I have access to a network of photographers and will do my best to secure another photographer around the same price point.

How do we book you?

Once you're happy to go ahead and confirm a booking, I'll send you over the standard agreement which details the terms of booking and conditions of payment. I require a deposit of 30% of the full amount to secure the date.

Are you insured?

Yes, I'm fully covered for public liability and have comprehensive equipment insurance.
